What’s the matter with the youth today Proof today rotting like tooth decay These fights are getting taken too far It's a shame that they're pullin' out phones and they're yellin' out, "World Star!" Now videos start to get around A generation that's negative bound It's the key to your Facebook or even Wikipedia Now every little thing is gonna go to social media Tell the truth if it sounded uncouth 'Cause the proof is in the puddin' and the puddin's proof The place is for a man he don't want to send you But clearly you really need the fear of God in you To rectify is clearly not a letter I bear witness to Jesus and testify He paid the price and achieved his goal Still you want to sell your soul? We've got a message in our music We've got a message in our music

HANGING ON A STRING On the way to the club in the back of the Sprinter Winter in New York with the black chinchilla Remember we was talkin' 'bout LeBron and the Lakers First indication that I knew you's a faker Shoulda been wiser, more observant back then Shoulda seen signs all up in the paintings Up against the wall, all above and behind If my mama was alive, she would say I was blind But back to the story, LeBron and the Lakers I can see your eyes shifty like the Mexican shakers Shoulda seen signs when I passed you the wine Like I said, I was blind Could've kept the gator, but I let you in Missed all the signs, made you a friend Moral of the story, put a hedge around your square You got no spare, and you You, you, you got me hanging on a string now Ooh, you got me hanging You, you, you got me hanging on a string now Time and time and time again Never took a second look at what the hell walked in Young youth, who just had no couth Bought as bright as the squad they call F troop Rough around the edges, green with the wedges Runnin' through the hood to taste some street pleasures Life they say is fluid till it’s stuck in stupid You'll count the ways you've been burnt by Cupid Dressed to impress casually New kicks hang gold sits so rightly Street life abound, gotta earn the crown And the eagle might have to take a few breakdowns Throwin' oaks with ruggers, felt like a muppet Had me on a string, strung like a puppet Caught up in the loop, hangin' from a noose Straight off a plate, ate all the soup...Life You, you, You got me hangin' on a string now Ooh, you got me hangin' on a string now Ooh, and that's just the way it is You can stop a suit, 'cause I'm not runnin' As if I was the Terminator, just keep comin' Like I said before, I move pa’lante From the human mix machine, to Lito Brigante Why you wanna worry 'bout the lyrics that I'm kickin'? They tell me Hip-Hop is 50 years old. To me, it’s older than the sun, moon, and stars. All the “who woulda thought” conversations are beyond me. You have what you say. You said it wasn’t art; now we are ripping you apart. Not your average band... we carved a way for ourselves. We survived an era like no other in this country. Weird combination it was: independent rap music and crack filled neighborhoods. As artists: a rare crew that stood up for human rights and justice, standing in the gap for many who couldn't stand for themselves. Being the Original Hip-Hop Band has its own set of pressures. To desire to be like your heroes (EWF, Mandrill, Sly, Brass Construction... the list goes on) and match your contemporaries is quite a task. We've had our share of criticism and Crowns. We've traveled from opposition to overcoming. Regardless of the circumstance, the music was/is the constant that makes it all good. The Stetsasonic decision is Here We Go Again. More music, more touring, more product. Our fans and supporters deserve this and much more. The right to jump in the car with the teenagers in your family and reclaim the aux cord and the Bluetooth signal. Play something fresh with music movies on YouTube to accompany the experience. Something to post about beyond just having a #throwbackthursday. We're back. And don't expect us to leave again. We aim for the name Stetsasonic to go on for decades ahead. Even with new band members the legacy will live on. We take this opportunity to say thank you. We love you. And what we present to you on this album in our opinion will prove just that. Classic Hip-Hop is and has been your ticket to ride for some time now. Welcome aboard once again.
